The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

What does the resurrection of Jesus Christ teach us?

I. His personality was proven

1A. Jesus prophesied about His resurrection – Mathew 16: 21

From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.

2B. Jesus proved that He is the Son of God – Romans 1: 4

and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,

3C. Proven to the world that Gospel is true – I Corinthians 15: 1 -5

Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand,

and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you–unless you believed in vain.

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,

that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,

4D. The one who believes on Him will have resurrection –

      I Corinthians 15: 21 – 23; 52 – 54

For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.

II. Evidence for His resurrection

    1A. The Empty Tomb

    2B. He appeared to many – I Corinthians 15: 6

Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.

3C. The existence of the Gospel and the Church – I Corinthians 15: 13 -15

But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.

And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.

We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised.

4D. Sunday become a worship day – He resurrected on the first day of the week –           Mathew 28: 1 and Acts 20: 7

Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the    tomb.

On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together

to break bread,

The law of gravity could not control Him because He has power over nature /

He is the Creator.

The Creator of this universe came to this earth to save human being, showed us how to live, died for us, was buried, and rose again on the third day. We pray and wish that this Easter will be one in which Jesus Christ infuses the power and experience of resurrection into everyone’s life.
